Who We Are

Walking alongside people in recovery.

Hope Works at the Shore is an independent nonprofit supporting adults in recovery from substance use disorder across Sea Bright, Long Branch, and Red Bank, New Jersey.

Our story

We are not a treatment program. We offer the practical support that often comes after treatment: peer connection, employment readiness, financial wellness, resource navigation, and community support.

Our focus is the critical period when someone is no longer in crisis care but not yet fully stable on their own.

Our founder and leader, Michael Turner, organizes the annual Fall Freedom Festival in Sea Bright—a regional recovery event that brings together recovery organizations, treatment providers, community groups, local government, and residents.

Mission

To walk alongside individuals in recovery by providing holistic, practical support that empowers healing, builds independence, and restores dignity through employment readiness, financial wellness, peer support, and community connection.

Vision

A Jersey Shore where recovery doesn't fall apart the moment treatment ends—where people in recovery are employed, financially stable, housed, connected, and thriving. Not just sober, but living well.
